The Revachand Bhojwani Academy from Pune has started a new project Digital study hall, which aims at taking the best teaching methods to schools in the Rural Areas of Maharashtra, India. The idea is to record classes from the best schools in Pune, make DVD’s and distribute them to the schools in the rural areas.
Their method is like this:
- The teachers of RBA are conducting classes in Ambedkar High School, Pune.
- These classes are video taped.
- The videos are saved on a computer, meticulously edited and finally copied to DVDs.
- The DVDs are then sent to the rural schools where the teachers are trained in mediation techniques, which help them to use these videos in their teaching.
