I enjoy your videos and learn much about daily Indian life. Could the person how does the camera work look into getting Lavaliere microphones to improv the sound. It is very hard to hear the people you interview.
Thank you

[…] While there are video blogs such as Rocket Boom making waves across the USA, video blogging hasn’t grabbed much attention or interest in India yet. Here is a video blog, Swajana, that posts a video on every Monday. Their post on Share Auto-Rickshaws is interesting. Auto rickshaws have been modified in India to carry more passengers and are called share-autos. Office commuters find this version more economical since the fare is shared by more people. Competition among ’share’ auto-wallahs has led to the virtual standardization of fare per passenger based on their destination.Shared autos play an important role in transporting urban India, where state-organized public transport, while not quite crippled, is congested to a point of extreme unreliability, especially during peak hours. Thank you Jo. Though shared autos play an important role in transporting urban India, where state-organized public transport is congested to a point of extreme unreliability, especially during peak hours, they also add to the traffic congestion on the roads.

Great camera work considering most of it was carried out secretly. Rick guys are not really cooperative and yet you managed to interview them. Good work!

I agree with Don about the mike. The voice of the interviewer needs to dominate all other sounds.

Share rickshaws are just like carpooling. They lessen the traffic congestion and fuel emmissions. Good selection of topic.

Well done, Amey Kulkarni!

Having lived and travelled about one half of a year in India thirty years ago, it is interesting to see what life is like there now. Seeing the auto rickshaws brings back some adventurous memories. Thank you for your work. I agree that closer miking of interviewees would be helpful, but when not possible or impractical, subtitling makes a big difference.
